"..he created some brilliant solutions in my hallway"
I hired Colin initially as a carpenter on recommendation from a friend to do the necessary works on my London flat last summer 2010.

His level of craftmanship is now very apparent, especially now that I have been living with it for almost a year.

He gave me superb advice & opened up other possibilities as solutions. Colin put together a cupboard, shelf & mantlepiece system which took up one entire wall in my living room and advised about the flooring.

In my bedroom, he lowered & insulated my ceiling, advised on the plastering and other walling issues. He also designed and built the extensive wardrobe system.

In my kitchen & bathroom he advised on the flooring and walling and created some brilliant solutions in my hallway.

In any business trust is the first thing, competence and delivery come second and longevity is the final seal.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Colin to anyone, it's a shame he's not still here in London!

"..he appreciates both quality and design.."
Colin worked for us on an ambitious extension for the rear of our property in 2006/2007.
It was a joy to work with Colin as he appreciates both quality and design, and was always prepared to think one step ahead in terms of achieving the desired finish.  There were a number of important details where we were thoroughly dependent on Colin's skill and experience.  For example hardwood frames for roof glazing running right across the width of the extension and cedar cladding, which was required on both internal and external walls.
If you are looking for high quality work and need reliability, then Colin is thoroughly recommended.

"..looks fantastic and sensibly priced.."
I would have no hesitation in recommending Colin Flood for any carpentry project.
He has built fitted wardrobes, hung bannisters, and installed shelving and french doors for me over the past few months.  They all look fantastic and were sensibly priced.  Colin takes pride in his work.  On one job, the standard of work done by the painters wasn't up to Colin's high standards, so he made them come back and do it again.  I just wish he wasn't leaving England!

"Colin is a true craftsman, takes intense pride in his work and his attention to detail is of the highest standard..."
Colin was commissioned to carry out work on my Teddington (London) house following a recommendation.
The work consisted of timber re-cladding part of the exterior of the house, liaising with scaffolders and decorators in the repainting of all the exterior timberwork and constructing an extensive area of timber decking to the garden. All this was carried out between June and August 2010.
As an architect, I have a considerable amount of experience in the commissioning of contractors on projects of varying scales. In working on my own house, I would naturally look for the highest of standards and in this respect I was not disappointed. I found Colin’s craftsmanship, thoroughness, reliability and general all-round working standard of the highest quality. I was also impressed by his understanding of my design intent and, on occasions, his practical suggestions which helped improve the design.
Colin’s knowledge of working in timber also impressed me. I was particularly interested in specifying a timber which would provide me with the longest possible life and to this end I asked Colin to carry out some research on possible alternatives types of timber for both the cladding and the decking. Colin’s recommendation of using thermally modified wood immediately appealed to me.
During the progress of the works, there were the inevitable constructional details requiring slight modifications (this is always the way of the perfectionist architect!) and Colin undertook these with the utmost professionalism. These ‘tweaks’ were undertaken as a matter of course, with no disruption to the main works and within the agreed schedule and cost.
Colin also took on the responsibility of project managing some other elements of the work carried out by others (scaffolding, painting, etc.). His management and skilful liaison with these parties ensured that the project progressed seamlessly and was delivered on time and within budget.
I can thoroughly recommend Colin for any project which he may seek to undertake in the future. His attitude, professional manner and honesty are exemplary. Colin is a true craftsman, takes intense pride in his work and his attention to detail is of the highest standard.

"Extremely hardworking and diligent and very adaptable.."
I employed Colin in March 2010 to do a number of carpentry and joinery jobs in my home. I found him to be extremely hardworking and diligent and very adaptable.  He was a very good timekeeper and the quality of his work was excellent and to a very high standard. Colin was friendly and enthusiastic and was always willing to offer advice on any aspect of the work.

He also had a very good network of other tradesmen, which was a real bonus for me, as I had recently moved to the area.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Colin.

"Areas of our home have been beautifully transformed.."
Colin Flood conducted some major works for us that included:
  • New ensuite bathroom
  • Fitted wardrobes
  • Built in cabinets and bookshelves
  • Revamp of family bathroom
  • Fitted shelves
We truly enjoyed our experience with Colin, he was very meticulous, his work was finished to a high quality, he organized his subcontractors to be involved at the right time, and he also held the subcontractors to his high standard of delivery. In addition, Colin was a great communicator and ensured that we were involved with the process along the way, and discussed and agreed as changes were necessary.
The end result – areas of our home have been beautifully transformed and although this work has been completed nearly a year ago, we still routinely comment on how satisfied we are with the modifications. Without hesitation we would recommend Colin, and we look forward to working with him again in the future on some additional updates to our home.

"The end result is breathtaking"

We engage the services of Colin Flood of KiwiKraftsman to help us create a bespoke gothic style kitchen using original antique paneling from the famous Liberty Department Store in London, UK and stained glass stores reclaimed from an old church.
Over and above the fact that this was not a typical brief, we had a very tight budget. Furthermore, none of the dimensions were comparable with a standard kitchen design. Colin did a superb job in locating suppliers and working through the challenges. He was reliable, efficient and quick to respond to questions and concerns. Indeed, when the kitchen designer and cabinet maker both made some serious mistakes, it was Colin that stayed the course with us to help us resolve matters.

The end result is breathtaking. 6 months later I am still in awe of the palace Colin has created for us. Thank you Colin.
